Lead by private sector community leaders, the Foundation will embrace those critical needs of the Tulsa County Sheriff's Office in the areas of support for the law enforcement officers and to support the community policing efforts to collaborate with the communities it serves.
The cost to provide effective public safety is expensive. There will always be more that must be done yet government budgets will never be able to fully fund what is necessary. Therefore, law enforcement agencies must rely upon funding from outside of the normal appropriation process. With a Foundation, The Sheriff Office can create new partnerships with those who believe that the safety and security of our citizens is a priority that must be supported.
Over the years Foundations, both private and public, have proven to be one of the best ways of addressing many community challenges and opportunities. Because of the personal and tax advantages, community Foundations have generally attracted a wide spectrum of civic minded donors who support many community needs. The purposes of the Tulsa County Sheriff’s Foundation, under the leadership of the Board of Trustees, will be there to support the mission of the Tulsa County Sheriff’s Office by identifying opportunities to support the community relation programs and to support the needs of the men and women serving as law enforcement officers.
All of the Trustees have stellar reputations of citizenship and public service. As leaders from the community, their role is to validate the need for the community to support the mission of the Foundation. Their principle roles will be to oversee the activities of the Foundation, to promote the financial support of the Foundation, and to serve as both advisors and advocates for the Tulsa County Sheriff’s Office.
The Tulsa County Sheriff’s foundation is proud to offer a variety of annual membership opportunities at corporate and individual levels.
